Preparing a Used Vehicle for Sale

At Revive we have a soft spot for high mileage vehicles that are kept in excellent condition. There is something special (and valuable) about a vehicle that has been well taken care. Taking the appropriate steps in preparing these vehicles for sale can assure you get the best value when selling.

We recently had the opportunity to prepare this 2003 Mercedes Benz S500 with 175K miles on it. The customer listed the vehicle for $500 more than they originally planned and got their full asking price.

After a full interior and exterior detail, and some paint work to make the car shine, the owner listed and sold the car in one day. Here is the note we received from the owner:

"Hi Brent! Thought you might like to know that we posted the Benz on Craigslist on Saturday, a gentleman came to see it on Sunday, he was so impressed with how great it looked inside and out that he bought it and just drove off with it today!!! Thanks for doing such a great job!!!"

While we would love to take all the credit for this, you can see in the photos below this car was in great shape to start with, we simply put the finishing touches on it to be sure that potential buyers see how beautiful it is.

Another example is this 1998 Volvo V70R with almost 200K miles in it. This vehicle also was kept is such excellent condition that it won 2nd place at a Volvo Club of America annual event for its class.

Detailing a vehicle is all about... you guess it, the details! The difference between a clean car and a "detailed" car can make the difference when looking to sell.
