What is Paint Transfer?

Although "paint transfer" is an industry term, it is also an exact description of what has happened to above vehicle. Paint has transferred from another surface (a garage door in this case) onto the vehicle. Many people expect that this damage would need to be brought to a body shop for a costly repaint.
