Winter is Here! A Friendly Reminder from Your Trusted Neighborhood Detailer

With Winter comes snow so let’s talk about the right way to remove snow and ice from your car. Using the wrong tools or techniques can lead to scratches, chips, and unnecessary frustration—and we definitely want to help you avoid that.

The DOs:

*Use a snow broom! These tools clear snow effectively while being gentle on your car’s paint. We even have snow brooms available for purchase at the shop if you need one.

*Let your car warm up with the defroster on to loosen the ice. A little patience goes a long way in protecting your windshield and windows.

*For stubborn ice, try a soft microfiber towel and warm water in a spray bottle. Just make sure the water is warm, not hot, to avoid cracking the glass.

The DON’Ts:

*Don’t use a snow shovel. Your car isn’t a driveway, and shovels are a surefire way to scratch your paint.

*Avoid stiff-bristled snow brushes, which can damage your car’s finish.

*Skip the “creative” tools. One winter, Jen got frustrated and used an old credit card to scrape ice off her windshield. Let’s just say the scratches she had to explain to Brent weren’t worth it. Lesson learned!

*Bonus Tip: Don’t chip away at ice with sharp or metal objects. These can damage your glass and lead to costly repairs.

Take your time and use the right tools to keep your car looking great all winter long. Stop by the shop if you need a snow broom or want more winter care tips. Stay safe, and let’s tackle this snowy season safely together!
